David J. Bettez, Ph.D., is the author of Kentucky and the Great War: World War I on the Home Front (UPress of KY, 2016), and Kentucky Marine: Major General Logan Feland and the Making of the Modern USMC (UPress of KY, 2014), which received the 2015 Col Joseph Alexander Award for Biography from the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. Currently he is working on a monograph for the Marine Corps History Division regarding the Marine Corps in the final stages of the World War I Meuse-Argonne campaign, November 1 – 11, 1918. He and his wife live in Scott County, Kentucky. Dr. Bettez will be available to sign his book, Kentucky & the Great War, following the lecture.
