Millersburg is located 8 miles
northeast of Paris, on U.S.
Highway 68.
In 1879, Col. Carl M. Best, a native
Virginian and graduate of Virginia Military
Institute, traveled through Millersburg,
Kentucky, searching for a Christian
community in which to establish a school.
According to a school history he chose
Millersburg because he thought it to be an
ideal location for a military school because
"there are no evils in the community such
as pool halls or saloons."
